Joel received the Birge Award for exceptional performance in biochemistry and the Clayton Spenser Award for exceptional performance in undergraduate research. Congratulations!
The conference took place in Ventura, CA. The subject of the meeting was Metals in Biology. Very few undergraduate students are selected to present at GRS. In addition to giving a talk, Joel also presented a poster.

Applied Photophysics instrument arrived from UK.
Chemistry and Biology students completed their program at Syracuse University and presented their results. Denis also presented his work at the REU Symposium in Alexandria, VA on October 22-23.
This one-day conference was established to prepare first-generation students as well as women in science for future conference participation at the national level.
